I wanted to help a friend by using remote assistance in the Help and Support
panel. The problem is, when I go in the Help and Support panel, I can click
anywhere and nothing works. Is this because I installed Internet Explorer 7?
Is there a fix?

Also check to see if you have Remote Assistance enabled on your
computer.

How to Enabling Remote Assistance in Control Panel

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
Click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
Click the Remote tab.
Verify that the Allow Remote Assistance invitations to be sent from
this computer check box is selected.
Click Advanced to set the amount of time that you want to enable access
to your computer.
If you want the user who connects to take control of your computer,
click to select the Allow this computer to be controlled remotely check
box.
Click ok

if you are trying to help a friend the proper protocol is for your
friend to invite you to help them through "Help & Support", an
email (Outlook) and MSN Messenger on their computer.
