My Monitor is Mv940 Compaq, now about 4 years old. I notice it is getting
darker and to make it worst I lost the Monitor's Manual.

You might check the Compaq website or contact their tech support for the
manual. The monitor does have its own controls, if you can figure them out
you might try increasing the brightness. However, it should be noted, what
you describe is often a sign a monitor is failing. If you have access to
another monitor, try connecting that to your system, if it is find, the
other monitor is most likely failing and you need to replace it.
