I am trying to make a database for an office that will help to organize many
resumes. I would like the database to be able to sort through the employees
information and help me find resumes that match what I am looking for. For
example, the database will include how long each employee has worked with the
company. I would like to be able to search employees that have worked with
the company for 25 years and have Access pull up those resumes. Is this even
possible in Access? Any help would be great! Please email me @
(e-mail address removed), I check that email more frequently.

To answer your question, a properly designed Access database certainly
could do what you want, but remember that it means you need to determine
ahead of time that you are going to want information on the time employees
have worked for the company and someone will need to input that data from
the resumes. I might add that you should consider things like someone who
has worked for 10 years and left and returned for 15 more or maybe worked
for a subsidiary of the company or how about part time workers or those who
act like your employees but are really employees of another company who has
a contract to provide certain services? It can get involved. However when
the planning and implementation is done right, the results can be well worth
the effort.

Now about this e-mail stuff. News groups (and this is a newsgroup) work
like the gang getting together over the back fence. One person has a
question, one answers it, a third adds to the answer maybe someone offers a
totally different idea and someone else puts all those ideas together to
come up with a great answer. E-mail just does not do that.
