My computor has started making this sound, if it was louder, I would stretch myself out for the ambulancement. Any idea what it might be. This is genuine and I am an IT luddite. Thanks Sister

It could well be that, Christopher, as its seems to have been labouring for a few weeks, causing a slight vibration to the keybourd. Do you think something has malfunctioned, any advice on what I should do. I need to access it regularly as I use it to keep in touch with my daughter who lives in another part of the UK and has a disability. I know someone who can do some work on it for me. Any advice if it is an overheating problem? Thanks Sister.

I'm with Chris, it is most likely some overheating. Can you tell us a bit more about your PC specifications, and if you have any monitoring software installed to check temperatures?

Let them have a look, and listen, we could be here all week trying to "figure" it out.

Possibilities are;
Fan noise
Warning Beeps/siren
Tinnitus of the Ear
hearing aid needs new batteries
new ambulance station just open near you

Thanks for the feedback all, its just given me the push to ring PC Beaver (local Computer Wizard) with a bit of confidence. Knowing that computors do make a siren noise, much more than the sound of a fan overworking, and that this is a sign that something needs to be done and it probably is overheating has been reassuring to hear from you. Its true you could be here all week with me if I need to come up with specifications etc.

I will come back after the weekend with some feedback on what was wrong.
