Heavy Use Card stock printer

My company is wanting to look at printing time cards. We currently
have a very large press that prints the rough info on the timecards.
Now they want each department to print the employees personal info on
the time card. So we are looking at about 800 cards a day though a
printer. I need to come up with a printer that can handle a good
volume with cardstock.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure about that, the thickest I've shoved through mine is
160gsm. But I don't think colour is needed in this instance, so I'd
lean towards Kyocera FS-something or other. Although I would have
thought there are dedicated machines for this purpose, that might suit
better, although such dedicated printers wouldn't be of use for other
things.

You could consider on of the old flatbed, clamshell, flat paper
path, LaserJets. They are good workhorses, which tend to go
on for years.
