Hearing sounds

When viewing videos in Internet Explorer I cannot hear sounds. If I am able
to download the same video and play it in Media Player the sound is fine.

Any ideas?

Open Internet options click on the advanced tab, in the multimedia section
check the box
"play sounds in web pages" and ok your way out.

I had tried that already, and took your advice and tried again, still a no
go. This is really driving me crazy.

Thanks for the idea though.

Are you hearing a "clicking" sound? I am getting a clicking sound when
streaming. It appears as though the streaming interface is refreshing - and
with each refresh / download, a click sounds in the background. I watch the
"done" area at the bottom left of the window, and it blinks / refreshes and
"clicks." This sound also happens when I click links or navigate using a
favorite.

I know this isn't answering your question, just adding to the chatter. But,
I could also use the help.

Thanks!

Start>settings>control panel>sounds and audio devices>sounds tab...

Scroll down the list and find Start Navigation and click on it...

In the list box below select (None)

Charlie,

Maybe I missed something. I am having similar problems and tried to follow
your instructions.

When you say to scroll down the list in the Control Panel/Sounds and Audio
Devices/Sounds, I assume you mean the Program Events list. I don't see any
Start Navigation event but I do see a Start Windows.

What did I miss?

You may need to scroll down more to the Windows Explorer section - Start
Navigation and Complete Navigation should be listed there.

Yep, I quit too soon.

Thanks,
