China based provider of internet and mobile value-added services,
Tencent has reportedly signed a formal agreement for the acquisition of
Foxmail's software and intellectual property rights. The price involved
in the acquisition has not yet been disclosed. [note: amount rumored to
be $5 million U.S.]
Foxmail claims that it has more than 3m Chinese e-mail service users
with its English version users spread over 20 nations.
Tencent informs that the purpose of purchasing Foxmail is to enhance
its own e-mail service.

We (european foxmail support or "fan" sites" as they say) were informed
three weeks ago about this merging...
