HD Tune

Guest

Ciao,
I had installed HD Tune (2.51) in my notebook with XP sp2, regularly
updated, and it was correctly functioning showing temperature and other
hardware informations. I do not understand why when now I launch the program
I get the error message "no drivers found". I unistalled and reinstalled the
program, but the problem remains. Of course I can live without HD Tune, but
also for curiosity, someone can explain to me the possible reason of the
problem and a solution, if it exists? May I suppose some bios change or WinXP
related problem?
Thank you in advance.

Usually at least with desktop boards, the mfg has such a utility for the board.
Try going to mfg web site,or if the notebook came with a cd,you'd probably
find it thier. You might delete it from temp files,registry,add/remove,then
search for it or related components in my computer (hidden files also),then
reboot,reinstall it.

Thank you Andrew for the answer. I have some problem in understanding your
suggestion: "mfg" is perhaps the command msconfig or other? What is the mfg
web site and more in general, what is the file (utility?) I should search in
the CD? Sorry, I am not so familiar with these arguments.. I had a look to
msconfig, but I have not seen some (clear) indication. I am confident in your
further help.. ciao

Thank you Gerry for your answer. Of course what you are suggesting was my
first action, but I did not receive any answer from HD Tune. So I am hoping
in the forum XP experience..

I just add this question: could the problem be created by Norton GoBack?
I have seen that Norton GoBack "add" drivers to the hard disk device, and I
suspect some conflict with HD Tune. Any comment?
