Since I installed the 80 gig hard drive Im having some problems. Mouse is

You failed to mention the rest of the system, but generally
adding another drive to same IDE controller should not cause
that. Offhand the only reason coming to mind is that you have
exceeding the capability of your power supply and now have
hardware errors. Unplug the new drive from IDE but not it's
power and see if problem persists, then also unplug power and
again see if problem persists.

Thanks for your analysis and suggestions.
The mouse issue was diagnosed and resolved. It was the mouse itself.
Changing left to right button works. Looks like the left button is wornout.
Other issues could be related to excessive heat. The ambient temperature
being 25-30 degrees C, the case temperature is higher than the CPU
temperature. Case 40, CPU 36-38. Nothing serious but I'm planning on buying
a better case and transfering the system.
Once again thanks for your help.
Oh the system: Athlon xp 2000+ TB , GA 7vaxp1394 MB, dvd rom, cdrw, ATI
radeon 64 mb, 512 MB PC 2700 Kingston Ram, ATI tv wonder pro, SPDIF, Maxtor
40 gig 7200 rpm 2 mb and WD 80 gig 8 mb HDZ
And one case fan....lol Trying to keep it quiet :) Buying a case with two
front input fans and 2 rear output fans. Hopefully that will resolve the
heat issue.
Any other suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers !
