Having mental pause - Need formula help

I am having difficulty trying to construct a formula that will analyze
column of dates (mm/dd/yyyy format) and count the number of record
that are within a date range that I specify. Example, I have a colum
of several hundred records and I need to be able to count the one
related to specific accounting months
 
Assuming your dates in column A, and your date range in D1 and D2, one
way:


=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A1000>=D1),--(A1:A1000<=D2))
