Dominic

I am running XP Home. Scanned by system with 2 different
virus checkers (macafee & computer associates) have
scanned my system with 2 different spybot checkers
(adaware & spybot s&d) and nothing comes up as an issue.
My problem is after a litte while my system will stop
responding. Or at least will take a very long time to
respond. If I shut down, the system will work fine for
awhila the go back to its old ways. Sometimes I can get
it to respond by switching users (back to myself), but
then sometimes that can be slow to respond as well. I
don't dare mention the word freeze because all posts I
have read that contain that work have no responses.
Don't know what to try next or where to find more info!

Thanks for responding---I really appreciate any
help/advice

Hi

Have you made sure that all your hardware devices have the latest version drivers that are XP compatible? Also try Disk Defragmenter and Disk Cleanup. Try emptying your TIF folder and any .tmp files that may be on your system.

Make sure all your fans are working. Heat can cause random freeze up
problems. Add extra fans to be sure.
