have macros replaced event procedures in MS access 2007

In Access 2007, everytime I create a button for a form the code defaults to a
macro instead of an event procedure. In 2003 it would default to an event
procedure. Is there a way to default it to an event procedure in 2007?

It was that way in A2003 as well, until you changed it. In A2007 the
setting is in OfficeButton > ObjectDesigners > Forms/Reports > Always
use event procedures.

In addition to setting the option Tom referred to, you can just type a
left-square-bracket beside any event property in the Properties box. Access
will complete [Event Procedure] for you. Then when you click the Build
button beside that, you get the code window.
