I will just like to say hat's off to you guys whose 2nd language is dhtml and javascript. Initially, I wanted to include vertical flyouts into my website to improve navigation. Unfortunately, despite the mio or so websites, describing in full detail & technicolor exactly how to write the codes, I fail to comprehend. I simply cannot grasp the codes the past few days and may never will in this lifetime.

As such, for the time being, I will like to include a "folder tree" kind of navigation instead. Clicking on a word or phrase will expand the tree, which will also unexpand when another word or phrase is clicked.

I hope that the coding for this is less compilcated and any help will be appreciated.

TQ

It still would be based on JavaScript DHTML

Try this:
http://www.acjavascripts.com/ExpandCollapseMenu.php

Better, but there are licensing issues

That's gReat! Looks like it's back to the dwging board for me. I'm really no good at this, but I'll give it another shot.

you could make it real easy on yourself and simply use a program like this:
http://software.xfx.net/utilities/dmbuilder/
I'd recommend the program above because it's easy to use and the guy who
wrote it is a 100% stand-up guy.

Nobody is really good at any of this stuff at first. But keep doing it, and
you will be, I promise!

Naw, I saw a flyout site yesterday but have no idea where
it is. (My IE has a problem where I can't access
History). I don't go for hokey stuff like that.

I personally have had good luck with the scripts from
Dynamic Drive. I use their Top Nav 3 on our Fire Department
website. I remember being frustrated the first time I
worked with it.
I am currently doing the annual rebuild. This time we will
be using Jim's Menu, again from Dynamic Drive. Still took
some time, but after a couple of days it just becomes a
tweaking matter.
