Has anyone ever come across this?

Hi All

Previously posted on 9/6/04 but no luck, has anyone come across the same?

Now just 2 Pcs, Win XP Pro, SP1 , all updates, Zone Alarm Pro.
PC1 has ADSL connection with 1 signon - Administrator; and a shared Office
Jet.
PC2 has shared connection, 1 Admin/4 user signon and Lazer printer.

From PC2 I can access PC1- internet, shares and printer without a problem.
From PC1 I have to logon to PC2 to have any shares, using the format
Administrator\PC2 - pwd. Not only that ,but if I try to print to the lazer
on PC2 I get a "Device not accessible" type of message unlessl I've
previouly accessed a drive on PC2.
I've checked all the stuff up to Computer Management level and Security but
can't find the difference. I've searched here and other forums and also the
knowledge base - even Google, but nothing quite the same and no fix.

The key to this problem is having to access a folder share on PC2 before you
can print to the lazer. "I think"

Does anyone have the magic wand?
Cheers Jimmy

Sorry forgot to mention that I have tried account restriction articles at
the support site like Q303846 but the admin account was set correctly.

It sounds like ZONE ALARM is blocking the ports necessary
for the 2 PCs to pass Authentication and logon
information. You can try getting around the problem by
executing this NET USE command on PC1 from the command
line:
NET USE o: \\PC2\C$ pwd (Password of the local
administrator on PC2) /USER:pC2\administrator

This tells PC2 that you are connecting to it using the
userid and password of its local administrator.

Hope this works for you.
