Has anyone else experienced problems getting their tooltips to update?

Hi Gang,
I'm using VB2003 and when I had the tooltips update the moment before the
user's mouse went over a square it worked fine (PictureBox - Mouse_Enter).
But if I had the Picture Box's tooltip text updated the moment the value to
be it would report changed it only works once. Does anyone know of any
idiosyncrasies with the ToolTip object?
