Hardware profiles

I've apparently deleted my hardware profile(s) on a new IBM laptop and
docking station. There are profiles with no names shown, etc. Whatever I do,
I can seem to "get back" to a docked profile that enables the lpt and usb
ports on my docking station. After having spent hours loading software,
entering passwords, and all the other "stuff" associated with getting a new
computer I'm not too enthusiastic about going through that who process again.

I've done lots of profile renaming, copying, deleting, rebooting docked and
undocked, etc., but can get to a place where I can control/know in exactly
what state my ThinkPad is booting. In fact, as I said before, I seem to have
"lost" any sort of docked profile that will boot my machine up in a state
where the docking station actually works.

I'm looking for some magic way to fix my profiles. Any help out there? Any
way to get the machine to "rebuild" it's docked and undocked profiles?
