Hardware locations

Windows XP configured my CD-RW drive (Sony CRX160E)and
DVD-RW drive in the same location (both are location 1
(1)). A separate DVD-ROM drive has a location of 0(0).
Device manager states that all drives are working
properly; although, there must be a conflict. In order
to burn directly to the DVD-RW using DVDXCopy, I must
disable the CD-RW drive. Should all drive locations be
uniquely identified? How can I resolve the problem so
that I do not need to disable a drive.

You can get a UltraDMA PCI Card which will free up both IDE channels on
your Motherboard. Your hard
drives can be connected to the Card. Promise cards are very good.
