hi, I have PC with P4 and win xp
during regular operation it suddenly shut down;
I replaced my power supply - I tested 3 different power suply - no reaction
from my PC;
what else can be the reason for this type of behavior?
any suggestions?

A sudden shutdown, could be an overheated CPU. Check that the
CPU heatsink is securely fastened to the motherboard. Check
that the CPU fan is spinning. Sometimes, a clip on the CPU
heatsink will snap, leaving the heatsink dangling loose.

Also, look at the motherboard, for bulging or leaking
capacitors. Especially near the CPU socket. It could be
that the motherboard is overloading the power supply,
due to some failed power circuitry. The leakage may be
a rusty brown in color.

The CPU can also overheat if the case fans or filters are dirty. And,
the fans can stop spinning due to age, even if they are clean. Note
that, if the problem is overheating due to fans or filters, the PC
should turn on briefly after you let it cool for an hour or so.

I will check for any signs of leaks/overheating on the MB
I vacumed my fans last month, also I kept my box (ATX?) open for better air
circulation - for no specific reason except that it's hot in the room
(really)
my PC is 4-5 years old
when I try to turn it on after a day or so there is zero responce
can it be mb failure - basically what I mean that to fix it I would have to
buy new mb?

You have tried three power supplies, so it isn't likely to be
a power supply problem.

Is the power button cable, connected to the PANEL header pins
on the motherboard ? Check that your PANEL wiring is in place.
It is also possible for the Power button on the front of the
computer case, to be broken. Sometimes the button itself gets
broken, from pushing on it so many times.

You haven't given any details about your computer make and model.
Perhaps if we know more about the motherboard make and model, or
the computer make and model, some other ideas will come to mind.

Another possible explanation, is the original power supply was a
Bestec 250W supply, the supply failed, and ruined the motherboard.
And then the motherboard won't turn on your other power supplies.

my PC is (was) dell dimension 3000
it's packed now - I am moving but will read your posts and if I know
something new I will keep you posted
