Our computer is running around looking for internet
connection when not needed eg; when using a word
document. Has slowed down dramatically (can make a coffee
while waiting for it to load) I was told I have to
reformat C: but the file I was told to copy to A: is too
big for a floppy. Have also tried to uninstall Windows
without success as the program Windows XP had all these
Hotfix attachments to the name which wouldn't uninstall.
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!

If you really want to reformat and then reinstall EVERYTHING then go into
the BIOS, change your boot order to include make your CD ROM drive first,
put the XP CD in the CD ROM drive, reboot from the CD, when XP setup starts
select the option to reformat the drive and then reinsatll XP.

You will lose everything you have and you will have to go to Windowsupdate
and reinstall all hotfixes. security patches, etc. You will also have to
reinstall all your other software and then all their updates too.

If you don't want to do that then give us a better description of what your
problems really are.

If I understood you correctly, your computer is trying to access the
internet sporadically? If this is the case, open Internet Explorer and click
Tools to Internet Options. Click the Connections Tab, then choose never dial
a connection. If this does not solve you problem, please follow the links
below to check your system for spyware dialer programs.

you'll need the winXP CD and start the PC with it in the
CDROM drive...you don't need a floppy to format your
harddrive..but keep in mind..everything on the drive will
be erased when you format. Make backups from your personal
files to another drive partition or burn to a CD before
you format.
All you need to format and reinstall windows XP is on the
CD, just follow the Menu.
good luck
