Hard finding some power options..

T

Thomas Johansen

Hi

I have problems finding the settings for the following power options:

1: When the power button is pressed, I like XP to do nothing but the default
seems to be "Shutdown". I can't find that setting in TD under my Advanced
Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC component

2: I would like the prombt for password after standby to be disabled. It's
default set to enabled. I allso cant find that in the
Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) PC component.

I have an idea that those 2 settings are based on user settings (HKEY_USERS)
and therfore can't be controled from TD. ??
Is there any solution to this ?

Thomas,

I don't know any good settings in TD that may fix your issues except that
for ACPI and StandardPC components you can Power Management Settings
(policy) and registry entries mentioned below.
The registry keys you may want to look into are under [HKCU\Control
Panel\PowerCfg] (or better [HKUS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\PowerCfg]) and
[HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Controls Folder\PowerCfg].
I'd suggest you to set the registry up on your XP Pro dev machine (I hope
you have one) and integrate the registry in your image (late FBA phase).
Also, I remember fixing the same issues within one on my images but I can't
recall now what were exact registry keys. However, what I did was monitoring
registry keys on XP Pro machine with Regmon while I was changing Power
options in Power Control applet.

Hope this helps,
