Hard Drive Temperature

I have a Dell Laptop and jsut found that the hard drive runs at about
57 degrees Celsius. HD Tune says that's critical but I think it has
always run at about that temperature. Any comparisons out there with
laptops?

Do you set the laptop on your lap whre the vents are
blocked and the drive heat can't escape? Sounds like
it.
