Hard Drive problem...

Ok here's the basics; I have a 50GB HD for my program files/Windows,
and a 120GB I've used for storage, both Maxtor NTFS disks. This has
been my setup for like 4 months now, and they've both worked great.

When transferring files from one folder to another the other day, I'd
get to a certain folder where the PC would hang and I got a "This disk
is not partitioned, would yu like to partition it now?" message. I
didn't, eventually I just rebooted. Now I can't access anything on the
120GB HD. It shows up on Administrative Tools, the BIOS and other
programs but it says the disk is "Offline" or unpartitioned. The total
space, used and free space is the same as it always was...

It's a shame I can't just copy the files to another HD with some
programs, since I don't have the free space to do so. So, any
suggestions or programs on how to fix the problem without losing any
data?
