hard drive partition

since i rebooted my pc after a crash my hard drive has partitioned. i am
operating in xp and have tried a conversion from fat32 to ntfs as advised by
my pc supplier but even after this it is still partitioned and have 30gb of
space sitting there on "d" drive and only 2.6gb left on "c" drive

would appriciate any help

If by rebooted you mean reinstalled win then you reinstalled incorrectly

or perhaps, and more likely, you used a sys restore disk, as supplied with
your sys which put it back to its origonal condition

Answered in another newsgroup. Please do not send the same message
separately to more than one newsgroup (called multiposting). Doing so just
fragments the thread, so someone who answers in one newsgroup doesn't get to
see answers from others in another newsgroup. And for those who read all the
newsgroups the message is multiposted to, they see the message multiple
times instead of once (they would see it only once if you correctly
crossposted instead).
