Hi,
I have a user who's system went into hibernation mode
shortly before it lost power. When she rebooted the system
she ran the check disk and it stopped at 7%. She then
rebooted again and skipped the check disk and the system
seemed to boot fine. As the system logged in the HDD light
stared to stay on constantly and the system will not
accept any other commands. I did get the task manager to
launch but it showed no other program were running or
scanning . I check the processes, cpu and mem usage and
nothing; but the HDD light stays on constantly. Every once
in a while a command would be carried out (lauching a
program) Is this system some how stuck between trying to
resume from hibernation mode and normal mode please advise.

Thanks,

Kraven

Remove all power from the machine. (Pull the plugs or switch off the power
strip.) Wait 30 seconds. Power up and boot the machine. If the HDD light
still stays on and you are still having difficulties, you probably have a
hardware problem, most likely with the drive or the IDE controller.

No, I don't know how to fix it.
