Hi,

I bought a new laptop 1 month ago, 120gig preinstalled with Vista Business.
Since then I have installed a few programes (Office, Works and iTunes
amongst them) and have 13gig music files 4gigs photos and 10gigs video and
other multimedia.

Yet I have still used almost half my Disc space, is this normal or can
anyone suggest ways to check what is using the rest of my memory?

It my 1st personal computer so if u are suggesting things can give me a step
by step guide??

Thanks for your help!!

Hi,

System restore will reserve 12% of the drive space for system recovery and
shadow copies, that's about 14.4GB. System files like the virtual memory and
hibernate files can be several GB (4 or more), and the Vista files
themselves will occupy another 12-15GB. Office and other programs can easily
use 10-15GB more. Add this to what you have, and you're looking at
13+4+10+14.4+4+12+10=67.4GB. Doesn't take long to fill up drive space.
