how to re-arrange hard drive (primary master-slave locations and secondary)
help!

Please explain just what you want to do. Is it physically
re-locating the hard drives in the computer case? Or is it
re-lettering the partitions? There are different consequences
to how each change can be made.

With IDE drives, you move a tiny jumper on the drive. You can have Master,
Slave, or Cable Select. Cable Select means that the position on the ribbon
cable determines Master or Slave with the Master being at the end of the
cable and the Slave being on the connector closest to the motherboard.

To determine jumpering for your specific drives, look on the drives
themselves. Often there is a picture. If there is no picture or it is
unclear to you, go to the drive mftr.'s website for your specific model
hard drive. They will have jumper settings there.

With SATA drives there is no Master/Slave. Each drive has its own SATA
cable.

If you need more information, you'll have to provide more details than one
sentence about what you are trying to do.

my "d" drive. i can't figure out how to change them correctly. ralph

You have to change the cables on the motherboard.
You have the hard drives connected to the secondary IDE port.
