I have win xp home with 512 mb of Ram .Whenever I play a game called Settlers
3 my system stops responding. If I restart,it says "DISK BOOT FAILURE PLEASE
INSERT BOOT DISC".If I turn off and leave the computer for a few minutes,it
boots normally. But if I play the game, this happens again.Strangely it never
happens if I don't play the game.Is this due to a hard disk problem or a
problem in the game?

Hi Arun,

According to the Technical FAQs for Settlers 3, the game was not tested for
compatibility with XP:

Have you tried running the game in compatibility mode?
How to use the Program Compatibility Wizard in Windows XP

Also, if you haven't done so already, I would suggest that you post your
question in the XP newsgroup that is dedicated to games, as someone who
frequents that newsgroup may be able to provide better assistance to you with
this particular problem:

Is it supposed to be run on XP?
Did you try running with the XP "compatibility flag"?
Sometimes that works. If not, you need to run it on the old OS.
I had the same problem trying to run Settlers I (which was for DOS/Win3.1)
on Win98.
