CDR.

There are a couple; Burn4Free and BurnerFree, and the ever popular
Sony CDXtreme that arguably may be called free, which is available
for open download, and does nowhere specifically forbid free usage
of it ... although it was posted for use by users of Sony CD-Burners.
There is another, but I forgot its true name .. something like ISO Burner.

I do my backups using tar, mkisofs and cdrwrite ... all of them are
command line tools - so I can customize them as I like to.
