Hang on Resume from Standby

Hello All,

Running Vista Business on Lenovo Convertible.

Upon resuming from standby, the system hangs on "Locking Computer" as if
when the system previously went into standby, sleep occurred before the
locking sequence could complete. If I lock the computer first (Windows
Key+L) and then enter standby (Ctrl+F4), everything works fine. I would
prefer to simply close the lid, and go on about my business. Is there a
registry tweak that will insure the system completes the lock sequence prior
to standby? Or is there perhaps another solution?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Don't know if this is your issue, but I literally just found out what mine
was, and the solution worked. Do you haved a wireless USB mouse or keyboard?
If so, go to Control Panel>Device Manager>[YOUR WIRELESS USB DEVICE]>Power
Management Tab, and try un-checking the box that says "Allow this device to
wake the computer, then reboot. I just tried it and then I closed my lid,
heard some activity for a couple of seconds, and then....QUIET. It's been
MONTHS! Hope this works for you!

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for responding to my post. Although the solution doesn't help
correct my specific issue, it's a nice little tweak to know. Thanks again.
Happy Computing!
