Handling labels in datasheet mode?

Tony Williams

How do I define the label and font size of labels for the controils of a
subform that is shown in datasheet mode. It appears to be the field name not
the caption and the font size is larger than when the form is in normal view?
Thanks

Typically, when you create a form and drag the fields from the Field List
onto the form, they have an attached label. Leave the label attached. Set
the Caption of each attached label to what you want. That will appear as the
heading over the column in design view.

You cannot set properties to control the appearance of the labels in
Datasheet view.

Of course, you could use Continuous form view, and control the look of the
labels over the column.

Thanks Allen. Does that apply to the font size for the data in datasheet view
too? I don't seem to get the same size font for the data as I do in normal
form view?
Thanks

AFAIK, you can't set the font size for the header.

But I never use Datasheets. Causes support calls from people who lose
columns (resized, relocated, hidden) or freeze them.) Continuous Forms are
reliable, and you can format sizes and give important clues (such as bolding
the labels for the fields that are required.)

When I need to use datasheets (also pretty rare...) I adjust font size by
selecting the top left corner of the datasheet while the form is displaying
(not in design mode...) and changing the font size, etc. Then save the form
explicitly before closing it or returning to design mode. Usually, it retains
the changes you make. Allen's right, though. The user can do the same thing
if he wants to be perverse....
