Does anyone know of a registry entry to allow me to change the default names
of folders. I want to change the names of the hotmail inbox folder I use to
actually say inbox - hotmail and the news group I post to to say inbox -
news etc.

any help would be appreciated

Right click the folder | Properties | Rename it

This may cause problems with hotmail. I know nothing about hotmail.

You may need to have a message rule to move hotmail messages to the folder
with the new name.

Why not have a message rule redirecting mail to a user created Local
Folder?

Hope this helps.

The hotmail inbox doesn't allow you to rename it the normal way I guess
because it is a default folder. That's why I was wondering if a way
existed in the registry.

Thank you Gerry.

I was grandfathered in to oe access from hotmail but the service seems
poor at best. the combination of downloading http email and then
forwarding it all to my own folder seems problematic. I don't think it
would work reliably.

Thank you for your thoughts just the same. It isn't a need just a want.
