So after days of trying to bring a computer back online, it's up and running and now having the correct drive letters where they were suppose to be (was a big issue before but we're good...cookin with crisco). But I'm still completely screwed because now when you open up "My Computer" or network places or anything of the such, there are no icons in the explorer window. I can go through a DOS prompt and see that all the files are there and in their rightful places...however I that does me no good if I can't get a user to navigate to them. Who's got the knowledge on this one

The above is an easy one: Net Use (and the Comman line) are your friend.
But I'm still completely screwed because now when you open up
"My Computer" or network places or anything of the such, there are
no icons in the explorer window.

Sounds like you unjoined the computer from the domain -- or somehow
else managed to log on as a DIFFERENT user.

user to navigate to them. Who's got the knowledge on this one?

From the prompt type: set userprofile
See if that path matches the location where you expect the shortcuts to
reside. My guess, is that it will have a different final path name, perhaps
with a machine or domain name appended.

If you are careful, you can copy a profile (old one, or one from another
user) over the the current one -- but given your chosen news ALIAS
I hesitate to suggest this so be careful as you could make it worse or
eliminate the chance of it working.
