'Guest' login does not work

When I set up my new computer running XP, I set up myself to log in as
Administrator/Owner... , with a password, and then - I thought - set up a
'Guest' account, without a password so others could also login, but - without
the password would not be able to damage my files. However, I cannot seem to
log on as 'Guest'.

Try this:
Press Start, then Run
Type "nusrmgr.cpl" (without the quotes) in the dialog, and press OK
Switch to the Advanced tab
Click the Advanced button
Click on Users in the left hand pane
Look for Guest in the right hand pane

If it has a red "x" on it, it is currently disabled. Double click on it,
and uncheck "Account is disabled".

Let me know if this works or if it doesn't.

I have the same problem as Marianne, I verified that 'Guest' is enabled,
but when clicking on 'Guest' on the Welcome screen the screen just pops up
again
with the password option for the administrator highlighted: i.e. cannot log
