Where is this information stored?
Will all the folks that sign the web, be erased when I update the web pages
(re-publish the site).

I hope not?

Oh, various places. Libraries, file cabinets, school,
lockers, file servers, shoe boxes, ... I think some of it
is between the back of my desk and the wall, not to
mention the couch.

Oh. In that case.

1. Open your *development* Web site.
2. Open the page that contains your guest book form.
3. Right-click the form and choose Form Properties.
4. Click Options, and then the File Results tab.
5. Note the file location in the File Name box near the
top of the form. If the File Name box under Optional
Second File isn't empty, not that file location as well.
6. In the FrontPage Folder list or Folders view,
locate each file name you identified in step 5, and
make sure a red dot with a white X appears in front of
it.
If not, right-click the file name and choose Don't
Publish from the shortcut menu.

I had to put the "red dot-white X" on the folder. I guess that will stop
from overwriting, however, does that mean... any new guest, that signs the
web, sill be updated to my "Development Form Tool" too. That would be
cool.

I still don't see where you can view the data, remove inappropriate
remarks... so forth.

Changes from the live site will only propagate to yoyur development
site if you publish in that direction.

Well, you know the file location now, right? That's where you view the
data.

If you want to record two formats, such as comma-separated values and
a Web page, specify both files names on the File Results tab, as well
as the two formats.

To get rid of any unwanted entries, open the file, edit, and save.

Thanks for the tips! I'm setting up a new guestbook on a site and needed to know how to edit out unwanted comments and how not to overwrite old comments when publishing updates to the site

Open the site live and edit the file the comments are published to save the
file.

On your hd you can either copy the page so it matches and remember to do
this before publishing ... or you can make the file 'don't publish' on the
hd .. then it will never be overwritten .. and you can just work with it
live ... remember to collect it if you move the site off the server.
