hi All

I have a parcel tracking system which outputs a csv file daily for
accounting purposes. I refer to this file as the packageset file. in the
package set file each line conatins the relevant information for each
parcel, or set of parcels delivred under a specific reference number.

a typical packageset file contains the following;

Pickup Date,Store No.,Store Name,Delivery Note No.,Manifest Count,Delivered
Date,Delivered Count,Signatory,Frieght Sticker No.
28/08/2003 ,4600 ,ABERDARE,
,1,29/08/2003 ,1 ,C J P ,C3263341

My question is this, can I in Excel, group the lines by store number giving
each store just one line with a combined total so in the example this would
reduce to 2 lines and aberdare would show as delivered count 2 and
accrington would show as delivered count 6.

All Ideas gratefully appreciated

Regards

Gavin

You should be able to use a Pivot Table to accomplish this. Data, Pivot
Table. Ask back if you need assistance on using the Pivot Table...
