I have been trying, to no avail, to find what seems like a
simple enough fact. Exactly how many users can I put into
a secondary group (i.e. not a pre-set group like Domain
Users) in Active Directory? Specifically in the context of
an LDAP lookup on the groups.
I have seen a few MSoft articles that say 5,000 is the
limit, yet there is a reference in a non-MS article that
states "The page size limit should not be mistaken for
another limitation that Active Directory has. You can not
have more than 1000 members in a secondary user group."
(see article:
http://www.hut.fi/cc/docs/kerberos/nss_ldap.html)
Also, whatever the answer is, is it the same for Win 2000
as for 2003?
