Group Policy replication.

H

Hugh Pritchard

Hi All.

We have a domain with 2 DC's running. We have implemented a couple of Group
Policies and we have found that it depends on which DC processes a logon as
to whether that user gets the policies applied that time. How do we ensure
the Group Policies are replicated between the DC's?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Cheers,

Hugh.

Group policy replication is handled by the file replication service. The
group policies are stored in the sysvol share and it is replicated to all
DCs. If you feel that FRS replication is failing you should take a look at
the FRS logs on the DCs and look for errors. You should also verify that AD
replication is working before t-shooting FRS replication. You can use
replmon.exe or repadmin.exe /showreps to check the replication status. You
should also run Gpotool.exe to verify that the group policies are consistent
and replicating between all DCs. For more info about gpotool see
