group policy not affecting on client computers(win2k prof)

hi
I have win2k server and win2k clients in my domain , i
configured a group policy for a OU contains users only .
i remove a run command from start menu using group policy
snap-in.
but when i loging a user at win2k client , the policy is
not affected.
what is the probable cause ?
Let me give the procedure , how to apply group policies to
clients

After you logon to the client machine check the application event log for any errors. A 1704 event will tell you the policy applied successfully

Just to make sure this policy is linked to the OU where the user account resides, group membership doesn't count.

As stated above DNS will need to point to a location that has the srv records for the DCs.
