I've noticed a flaw in outlook (or maybe I'm not seeing
the option).
In Outlook 2003, if you send a meeting request to a
distribution list and make the list a required member, the
meeting request will be sent out to all of the members of
the list as an Optional member of the meeting. When the
recipients reply, they are added to the meeting list,
along with the distribution list staying a member. If you
expand the list, anybody who has replied will have a
duplicate name, and all of the "optional people" will be
changed to "required." Is there any way to have the status
of the members updated in the distribution list itself, or
are they by design just added to a list under the meeting
request?
To try this yourself, create a test distribution list with
a couple of people. Send a meeting request out with the
distribution list as required to attend. Have somebody on
the test list accept. They'll be listed on the list, below
the test distribution list, as optional.
Any ideas?
