Can someone post a good resource or link as to how data can be
displayed in the control GridView using a SqlDataSource along with a
menu that acts as a filter.

If this is an ASP.NET Gridview, you should be posting in the ASP.NET, not
the C# language newsgroup.
Long story short, visit the ASP.NET QUICKSTARTS for all this kind of stuff.
