I am attempting to make a sheet with only grid lines.
These lines MUST be square.

I adjust my colums and rows manually but am not able to print our exactly
the same size.

You may have your print settings adjusted to print X pages wide and Y
pages long, and Excel is adjusting the printed output to fit your
paper. You could use wider / longer paper, or trim columns and rows
off the print area until you get your desired outcome. It will take
some experimentation.

This is an iterative process. Set the row and column sizes so they seem
square, then print out a page, measure the grid, and make the appropriate
adjustments.

Hi Brian,

Horses for courses!

CAD programs are by far the best for this sort of thing. If you
don't have access to them then any drawing program is next
on the list. Failing that Word and Powerpoint can do a fair job
of it.. There are also plenty of free websites that will let you
print all sorts of Graph paper. Even a pencil and a ruler are
more preferable than trying to do this in Excel.

Row heights are measured in points or pixels. There are 72 points to an inch
and "maybe" 96 pixels to the inch.

The number that appears in the Standard column width box is the average number
of digits 0-9 of the standard font that fit in a cell.

When dragging the column width you will see two numbers.........one is width as
above, the other is pixels.
