Green comments

I send out a daily worksheet to everyone important in my company. I include
comments where needed. When the president opens up my spreadsheet, he sees
my red comments in the upper right corner, but then also green comments.
These comments are not from me, and when you scroll over them, nothing shows
up. Need to know for his pleasure, how to get rid of these, or what is
causing them.

A red triangle in the upper RIGHT corner of a cell indicates a
comment. A green triangle in the upper LEFT corner of a cell
indicates a potential error or inconsistency in the formula in
that cell. Are you saying your president sees a green triangle
in the upper RIGHT corner of some cells?

It is in the upper left hand corner, but there are no errors in the cell.
These comments are appearing in just about all of the cells. In most of
these cells there are no formulas. Out of 50 people who gets this report, he
is the only one getting these little burgers! He has the same Excel as I do,
2003. Thanks SO much for your quick reply!

If you hover over the green triangle, what error does it show?

Is it that Excel is seeing the data as text?

As garfield-n-odie pointed out, these are error indicators. I wouldn't
switch them off until you identify the issue but you can via
Tools>Options...>Error checking

On your president's computer, start Excel and click on Tools |
Options | Error Checking tab | uncheck the "Enable background
error checking" box | OK.
