Graphics won't save........

Hi..

When I click on a gif in IE6 sp2, I am unable to save it as a .gif the only
option is a .bmp

I have been to Microsoft Support and read an article where they list reasons
as:
* This issue may occur if your Temporary Internet pages cache is full.
* This issue can occur if you have "Do not save encrypted pages to disk"
selected in Tools, Options, Advanced Tab and are loading the page over a
secure connection (https)

I have tried to clear the cache and the second reason isn't a valid one in
my case (it simply wasn't checked to begin with).

Is there another way to fix this? I am trying to save animated gifs to my
system, so ultimately saving them as a .bmp defeats the whole purpose.

Thanks for any help!

Hi lizzy0921 :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

Can't save images as Jpeg's

The solution that seems to work for about 98% of such problems the time:
IE-Tools-Internet Options-Delete Files (in the TIF section)

Safely Delete the Temporary Internet Files
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm

Clear out temporary files and delete cookies.
http://www.pchell.com/support/privacy.shtml

If it doesn't, close IE, reopen and do it again.

If still no joy, try the following...

Internet Explorer Saves Images As Bitmaps (.bmp Files)
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;810978

Right-Clicking, Selecting 'Save Picture As' Does Not Save Image with Correct
Extension
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;250747

Why IE will only let you save as BMP

260650 - Internet Explorer Does Not Save Graphics Files in the Proper Format
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;260650

If the above fails, then try here:

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

After two evenings of trying all these fixes which didn't work I found
that it was a setting in my Zone Alarm Firewall privacy ad blocking
setting.

Once unchecked the animation block everything worked!
