I was browsing in the OpenOffice manual and came across this exciting
possibility.
You can create a sphere using 3-D drawing and then apply a world map
to it as a "texture," and you have globe you can rotate!
My Office2003 book treats all the graphics capabilities in a separate
chapter at the front, so maybe this can be done in Word, somehow? The
corresponding chapte r in the Word2003 book calls graphics "quick and
easy," which strikes me as wishful thinking rather than reality. Is
this a misapprehension?
(I don't have Illustrator.)
