Graph on a form

Hello,

I am pretty new with Access and a colleague has helped me with my database.
It is a programme to registrate and calculate the effectiveness of machines.
I want the results that are shown on the data entry form are also shown in a
graph on that form. I can not get the graph showing the right results.

You can find the database on
http://www.berryensylvia.nl/sites/berryensylvia.nl/files/sylvia/efficiency_calculation.mdb
The picture
http://www.berryensylvia.nl/sites/berryensylvia.nl/files/sylvia/data_entry_form.bmp
shows the data entry sheet that will be filled in every shift for 8
machines. The last 4 text boxes (BG, PG, KG and OEE) in every row are the
results I would like to be shown in a graph.

I would like the graph to show the 4 results per machine in a column graph
with the bars separates from each other at the bottom of the form. An example
of a how I want the graph i

Can someone help me?

As Peter mentions, a FlexGrid can do the job. You can also do the graphing
in Excel, by passing the results of your query to a spreadsheet, and having
that spreadsheet return a graph from the named range. As a matter of fact,
using automation between Excel and Access, you can create jpg of gif images
in Excel which are returned very quickly to an image control in Access
giving you instant feedback without having to use or register ActiveX
controls.

If you control your environment, either method works well. I tend to prefer
the range of charts available in Excel over the bar charts from the
FlexGrid, but if all you want is a bar chart, the FlexGrid works great.

Hello Arvin

I prefer your solution because I am not allowed to Move the ActiveX
to the drive for my Operating System. And since I want to use this database
at several computers at my work it is gonna be complicated.
But like I mentioned before I am pretty new at this and I have got no I idea
how to do this.
Can you give me some practical/concrete tips for my database?

Greetings Sibbel
