Grant access to the eventlog

Grant access to the eventlog

How do I grant access to the ApplicationLog and the SystemLog on a Windows
2000 server for a regular user. The user is a needs to check if some
applications fail but does not need any priliges on the server other then
reading the eventlog remote.

Please help.

By default any trusted user can look at the system and application logs. There is no security preventing it.
