Hi Pat

It all depends what data you have in your Data area. Some fields are not
additive, in which case a Grand Total will not appear.
For example if you had Customer as a Row field and Sum of Value and Count of
Value in the Data area, then Grand Total would not appear, but if you had
Value This Year and Value Last Year in the Data area, then a Grand Total for
both years would appear

When trying to generate Grand Totals in a PivotTable, put the items to be totaled in the "Value" area of the PivotTable using the Field List window. Select the PivotTable to be updated, select the Options tab, then click on Field List in the Show/Hide group. The Value area is in the bottom right corner of the window.

Hope this helps...

I'm trying to remove the grand totals.
I have data label in "rows" and the same in "values" so i can count each unique text and count the number of times they appear, and then show that in a pie chart. any ideas on how to remove the grand total? it is showing asa separate pie slice and making the whole pie off.

thank you!!!!

Just Check, under the Rows field of pivot, uncheck the show totals button
