gpupdate.exe /force

Everytime i run this command on my DCs, i am asked to reboot [y.n] because
some computer policies need to be refreshed at start time.

I don't have any specific computer policies set, just the out-of-the-box
ones set in Domain group policy.

There was one software installation policy set but this has now been
removed, but I think there could still be a trace of it somewhere, maybe
explaining why i am being asked to reboot after refreshing group policy

Could this be right?

Further to my suspicions, I have run a gpresult on one of Dcs and there is a
warning in computer settings/component status. It is a software installation
(Pending) did not complete policy processing because a system restart is
required for the settings to be applied.

There is no longer any software installation policy anywhere in the domain,
and this error is coming from a previous policy which seems not to have been
removed properly. Where can i go to remove any traces of this policy, i
think it is doing damage to group policy refresh as a whole
