I use an excellent program called GPS Trackmaker free for downloading,
editing and graphing my GPS data. I don't know how it compares to the
software that you mention. I also use gartrip for making speed maps and
analyzing my GPS data.
Or if you are in the USA, or planning to go there, you might have a
look at JDM Cox's "USA Photo Map" (which also downloads and shows
topographical maps in color!)
