GPO's won't update

Hi,

I'm having a strange problem where AD is 'loosing' newer
versions of certain GPO's. This is only happening on 9
GPO's out of around 30. I can update them and they look
updated on the screen, then go back and check them half
an hour later and they have reverted to a previous
version. If I destroy the GPO, then recreate it,
it 'sticks', but this isn't practical long-term.

Any ideas gratefully received.

Run gpotool against the current set of policys. You
probably have a collision on those problematic GPO's. We
encoutered a similar issue and I believe the collision
issue was corrected in SP3 though there are hotfixes to
correct this as well. It was an issue with NTFRS. You
might have to clean up the policies one additional time
after you patch but after that this issue should not come
back.
